The 2015 winner of the best BC Camping Story Contest will receive:

In spring of 2016 a complimentary four night RV Rental and stay at the winner’s choice of private campgrounds listed in the 2015/16 Super Camping guide and a snack pack (a set of five $10 gift cards for various stores, plus two mosquito bracelets, two marshmallow sticks, re-usable beach bag, one beach towel and one water bottle). Meet your BC Camping Judges

Joss Penny has been employed by the BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association from 1988 and held the position of Executive Director since 2006. He is the current chair of the Camping and RVing BC Coalition, camps frequently and enjoys casting a line for the elusive salmon.

Stacy Webb was introduced to fishing as a child by her dad, who thought that milk, Cheerios and fresh trout were the essential food groups for a fishing trip. She works for the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC as Director of Marketing and Communications.

Darlene Oswald has lived in British Columbia all her life, and has been on more than 300 camping trips. An outdoor girl who blogs under the name PoMoDee. To follow her blogs visit

How does the judging work?

The marketing administrator at Camping and RV BC Coalition (CRVBCC) reads all stories/blogs as they are entered into the contest and shortlists stories based on the above judging criteria. Stories that are shortlisted will be published at with credit to the author. After the contest closes (August 31, 2015 at 5 pm) each judge will pick their top seven entries, which will be submitted into the finalist pool for a total of 21 entries. This round is scored according to a judging criteria supplied by the Camping and RV BC Coalition (CRVBCC) to guarantee, the overall winner is selected by the highest score on the judging criteria.
