Only 45 minute drive north of Vancouver, enjoy the experience of ocean-front camping at Porteau Cove. Day-use area offers picnic sites in a grassy area along the shore with gorgeous views of Howe Sound and Anvil Island. Porteau Cove is also accessible by water; a mooring float (with no shore access) is located at the south end of the park. Porteau Cove is a popular area for stargazing and scuba diving, with a man-made reef and 3 sunken vessels. Ice, firewood, and available for sale at the gatehouse. Two beautiful beachfront log cabins are for rent. These fully furnished units sleep 4 and include a deck with a BBQ, television, and kitchenette. Park Size: 50 hectares WINTER RATES APPLY – Porteau Cove open year round. With full services from Mar 1 – Nov 13 after that, winter camping from Nov 14 – Feb 28; reduced services. Except for the following when the park is reservable (ie, full services and fees for reservable sites) Sites 10 to 22: reservable year round with full services and fees; Sites 1 to 9 and 23 to 30: full services year round and sites are reservable Dec 21 – Jan 5 and Feb 15 – Feb 17 and Mar 1 – Nov 10 and Dec 20 – Jan 5; Sites 31 to 44 and walk-in Sites W1 to W 16: full services and fees Dec 21 – Jan 6 Feb 5 – Feb 18 and Mar 1 – Nov 10 and Dec 20 – Jan 5; Winter camping fee Nov 14 to Feb 28; reduced services. Gate is open during the off-season.
