Camping at Joffre Lakes, British Columbia With Friends
If I could recommend one hike to anyone visiting the Whistler area, it would have to be Joffre Lakes. Located north-east of Whistler off the Duffey Lake Road (Hwy 99), I would say it’s one of the most spectacular hikes of BC, if not Canada, and its popularity has kept it very well-maintained. Climbing 400 vertical meters over a 5.5 km span up to the third and final glacial lake, it is great for everyone, from beginning hikers to veteran backpackers. Camping in Yoho National Park
As we set off in early September, we knew that our camping trip would be filled with adventures, and Yoho National Park certainly did not disappoint. After getting advice at the fantastic park visitor centre in Field, we were headed to the Takakkaw Falls Walk-In Campground. Continue ReadingKayak Camping in British Columbia’s Gulf Islands
We launched from Island View Beach on a windy but clear day and made good time across to D’Arcy Island where we spent the first night. We rested and warmed ourselves in the sun on the beach before we set up camp. Continue ReadingKayaking in the Gulf Islands

Rafting on the Elaho River in Squamish, BC
When the sun is beating down on a hot summer's day, the only thing you want to do is be near cool, refreshing water. One of the best remedies for keeping yourself cool is to do something involving cool splurges into water. Continue ReadingRafts on the bank of the Elaho River
Garibaldi Lake Hike, British Columbia
The hike to Garibaldi Lake is a cruisy 9 km walk up from Rubble Creek car park (just south of Whistler) on a well graded trail through towering Douglas-fir and western red cedar before leveling out to expose stunning views of Garibaldi Provincial Park and the valley below. Continue Reading
